April 22 is Earth Day, a day that's been celebrated since 1970.
The theme this year is Our Power, Our Planet, with the aim being to unite people "behind renewable energy, and to triple the global generation of clean electricity by 2030". How? See the many suggestions and resources on the Earth Day website.
The Library has many excellent resources on renewable energy, as well as many other environment and sustainability related resources for you to dive into. Here's a taste.
And don't forget we offer Environment studies at Open Polytechnic, including a degree in Applied Science (Environment). Check out your study options.
We also offer a New Zealand Certificate in Organic Primary Production. See some of the Library's organics resources.
As the The Nature Conservancy says: "There’s just this one planet of ours, and it’s on all of us to safeguard a future with a livable climate, healthy communities and thriving nature—during Earth Month, on Earth Day and every day. Let’s put our heads, hands and hearts together and take action to preserve and protect the natural world for generations to come."
