10 December is Human Rights Day and this year's theme is:  Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials, "to reaffirm the values of human rights and show that they remain a winning proposition for humanity" - United Nations.

The day is celebrated annually around the world. The date 10 December is the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It recognises that all human beings are entitled to the same rights, regardless of "race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status."

You can read more from the United Nations about this special day here.

And remember, at Open Polytechnic we embrace and celebrate all students and staff, whatever your background. The same goes for our Library & Learning Support Team. No question is a silly question so, don't hesitate to reach out if you have a question, big or small, about your assessments or study - from essay writing to APA referencing, to doing research or navigating your course - every student is entitled to support!
