Have you got used to saying “King’s Birthday” yet? Monday 2 June is a public holiday to celebrate the birthday of King Charles III. His actual birthday is on 14 November but in New Zealand it is always marked on the first Monday in June.
A significant part of this public holiday is the release of the King’s Birthday Honours’ List. Appointments are made to various orders, usually to recognise service to the community or the nation. You can see a list of previous recipients here.
